Common courtesy and common sense is dead.

Here is my most recent experience with assholes and parking. This happened last Wednesday at a small hotel in old Montreal. The hotel owner gave me a great spot in the corner of his lot. I was able to snuggle in quite close to the building and leave lots of space for the guy beside me as can be seen by the lines in the first photo. I thought my car would be safe there for the night but I was wrong. The second photo shows what greeted me in the morning as I was getting ready to leave. How the f*%k could someone manage to break the marker light on my fender and not do any other damage? There's not even a mark on the paint. The car that had been parked beside me last evening was gone. Whoever it was probably didn't even realize they hit my car let alone done any damage. I suppose it could have been a lot worse. Just be careful and show some respect for other people's vehicles. I know it's an old car but its my old car and I love it.

Some low life stole your marker lens I'd guess.

It's not missing, just broken out of the fender(wing).

Old car or not, people should respect other peoples property. Unfortunately we don't live in that world. Suck this happened to you, but as you said it could be worse.

Because they intentionally broke it... Is impossible otherwise! Think scraping their foot in a downward motion... RIP it out!

Pieces of shit these miscreants are!

If you think that's bad, try being rammed on purpose when you're just minding your own business cruising down the highway.

I truly hope everyone has dash cams these days.

Rammed on purpose?? And while moving on the highway… that guy’s gotta have a death wish.

That's a pisser. Back in 2015, I was having a rough go. My new BRZ was just a few months old, I walk out from the courthouse after finalizing my divorce, to see a door ding.

And when I say a "ding" these people must have kicked the their door open, right on the crease of the door and knocked all the paint/primer off down to the bare metal.

You park real close to the cement bolster at Chavez Ravine, then as you pull out to go home you forget said bolster is there, because it's only about 36" high

Well this just happened today... half empty parking lot... I'm parked all the way in the back... and the guy in the camry decided right next to me was the best spot.

I guess you have to pretty much expect that will happen.

The important thing... was your car okay?

Cute kid (assuming she's yours ) and nice car, BTW.

Thanks.

And yeah... I'd be lying if I said I didn't look for door dings/scratches luckily no damage.

I have come to the point that I videotape my car when leaving it parked in sketchy areas.

I had one park 9 inches from me at Merc World in Surrey some time ago..from my drivers door with plenty of other spaces to the left and right. It was a LHD 80's vintage 3 series and I had to enter my car though the passengers side but before I left I put a note on his windshield saying if he had a brain he'd probably be dangerous.

This happened yesterday. Parking lot completely empty except for me in the back and someone who couldn't find another spot amongst the 100 open spots!
