When you get it back, put it on ebay and use the money to buy a PS3.

Well the reason I went with a 360 hasn't changed: the games and the great XBOX Live system they have in place. PS3 doesn't really have anything of interest to me so far... but who knows, with Blu-Ray winning the format war it might be a good choice down the road although I believe Sony and MS are in talks to release a Blu-Ray player for the 360.

Hate to strengthen all the PS3 lovers' claims but unfortunately my 2nd replacement came in and guess what?! It died within 10 minutes

I selected my language, my country, it asked to update, failed to connect to the internet (although the cable was plugged in fine). I cycled power, the 360 logo came up, then it switched to the Customer Service System Error screen and was flashing RED

I honestly dunno wth customer service can do for me at this point. I'm gonna get stuck in an endless cycle of shipping replacements back and forth; certainly can't get my money back unless I sell it on eBay as suggested but I can't really sell something I dunno works or not heh.

This is ridiculous Been about 2 months for this ordeal.

UPDATE

LOL well this is a little embarrassing but it's good news. My 360's failure was only 1 red light, and not the 3 lights for the red ring of death. Error code was E68, so I googled it and it's related to the hard-drive being messed up or improperly connected.

Sure enough, I popped it out and turned the 360 on, it works fine. Powered off, then I re-seated the HD back in till I heard a bunch of satisfactory clicks, powered the 360 up and VOILA, good as new
