While I don't think I ever got a "better" car this is the worst loaner that I ever got. They said it was all they had left and I didn't have an advance appointment (I called my SA and she said she checked and found that they had a loaner and to come on in). So I guess I can't complain. If, for some reason they will be keeping my car for an extended period, I will try to get it replaced (my dealership is close to my house so it is no big deal for me to run over there).

Recalls on 2018 and 2019 Vechiles
Took both of my 2018 M550i for recall and I was told they had no record the vehicle was recalled. My cousin took her 2018 540i for the same recall and she was told there was no recall. 2 different dealerships. They also told me they had no software or firmware updates available. Has anyone experienced the same? Thank you!

I'm in the U.S. and the dealer knew about the recall, but I was told my cars were not recalled. My cousin was told the similar information. if it is all the 2018 through 2020 model year then they all should have the same software issues. I'm now very carious.

I just checked the U.S. Consumer Report Recall page:
https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news...ue-101519.html The recall in the U.S. starts November 19, 2019. I'm so disappointed with the BMW dealership that acknowledge the knowledge, but pretended the cars were not recalled with any follow-up offers. This recall was announced in U.S. in October 2019 in U.S. |

Ps. For the guy complaining about the X1 lease, I was given a 2018 Nissan Altima rental. Complete garbage and I had to drive it 2 days to work. Slow, lackluster pos, an 80's accord drove better than that crap. Makes me appreciate my car a whole lot more.

Those of you who had your software updated, are you located in the U.S.? If yes, what state are you located at? In California they are giving us the run around. I called my service advisor and provide him this information (per SIB 12 20 19 to reach target I) and he said he had no idea.
I was also told that there is a new iDrive software, but again some of the dealers penitent that they have no clue. Anyone could provide any information, I greatly appreciate it. As for the loaner cars. They have limited BMW cars, most of the time they are extremely dirty on the outside and dusty inside. Getting a loaner car from Honda is cleaner. I have written my conclusions to BMW NA, on thier Facebook and Twitter accounts. it seems like they do not care. |

Whenever I have needed service (mostly with my prior, more troublesome BMW) I was always told to come right in (I live pretty close) and they always had a loaner for me. In the past I have been somewhat able to select which loaner cars and used that as a test platform for me. One thing that struck me was that the car was about 14 months old, was stripped (not even navigation) and there was a "buy me" sign in the car offering a lease for only $499/month. For a used, stripped X3 that has been driven by a whole bunch of people who didn't need to worry about what they did to the car! I have generally been pretty happy with my service from my dealership. As I originally noted, I understand that beggars can't always be choosers. I am replacing my tires at Costco rather than the dealership. I went back and forth and back and forth between summer tires (Michelin 4S) and RFTs (Driveguards). I finally decided that while I would like the ride better from the summer tires, I might occasionally need to drive in colder weather and I don't track the car so I ended up ordering the Driveguards. I will be having them installed this week. |

South Florida here, no push-backs, I simply just told them what I wanted done. Had some connected drive issues so I-drive was updated since I had the early version.

CA, USA: I cakled different dealers and they all told me the BMW NA had removed some of the VIN numbers from the recall list. Now they are calling it "certain" models or "certain" VINs. If your car's VIN does not show on the BMW recall list they are not going to update any software. What a mess.
