So is the new competitive set an F150 pickup or a Hummer H2 lol? I will refrain from commenting further but at that weight, it will handle like a boat no matter what they do to the suspension... look at the new Rs6 performance which has over 600 hp and weights 500lbs less yet can barely outrun an m3 touring lol... carwow had a good video on this.

Would that come with more speakers as well?

Joking aside, can’t wait for the release. My dealer claims there is already a wait list for his allocations, 6 deep. We’ll see…

I really wish it didn’t have the electric motors. Hopefully they sort out the electrical issues that are plaguing the XM and 50e’s.

I mean its a blessing to have +600HP under hood of a SUV serve the purpose but definitely that purpose has nothing to do with agility or any track related stuff or even 0-60 / quarter mile.
The car can be tracked and is built for it. That's actually the purpose of a full M car. Look it up. Otherwise you could get the M50/60i version. No need to spend 40-50k more for the full M. M's are purpose built for tracking, yes they are.

Who said M SUV is built for track?
How many people track their SUV with or without M badge on it?

M used to mean something. BMW diluted it down by putting M badges on everything.
I remember a guy at the golf club had an M550i when I had an M5, and he would tell everyone it was the same car for less $$$. ummm, no Dude. Not even remotely the same car.

It's a big & SUPER HEAVY M5 touring. But it looks nice & appears to be able to dance a little. Despite those poor tires begging for mercy & the front rotors getting ready to warp... LOL

The question isn’t how many people do it. Irrelevant. The point is an M car/suv is purpose built for it. Can do it. And yes I’m sure some have and do it as well. Do I? No. Not the point. I like knowing it’s built for it and can do it off I wanted to. You think all the extra bracing and cooling is there for the street? Lol come on my guy. Again no reason to spend all that extra money on the real M car or otherwise If all you want is the engine. The cooling braking handling are all purpose built but the track. Look it up. Ask BMW. Don’t take my word for it. Go ahead I’ll wait. Plus there is a guy on YouTube who did track his x5mc that little British dude. Forgot his name. It did amazing actually and was very cool to see.

You’re right isn’t the same. The full M variants still mean something and are two or three steps above the one right below it in the food chain. They put a lot of extra engineering into the real M cars. Which is why they are so much more money and also for the prestige I guess of having the top dog.

They put Kathleen Kennedy in charge of design and she said "Light up the grill and make it more lame."

It's just weird seeing people saying "eww, what the hell is that", we know already that it will feature exactly the same grill as i5 M60, just with wents opened at the bottom part.

You can always turn it off. This is the least important detail.
