It's been raining for all week and more predicted for the weekend.

Tuna on toasted English muffins! So good. Grapes for dessert.

Mayo from scratch! Making mayo fun, and tricky. Do not add the oil too quickly!

1 egg yolk room temp
1c vegetable oil
1/4 t salt
1/4 t Dijon mustard
1-2 T lemon juice or vinegar

Place egg yolk in bowl and whisk. Add mustard and whisk. Slowly, add small amounts of oil and thoroughly whisk until incorporated before adding the next few ml. Continue whisking and adding oil slowly until all oil has been incorporated into the emulsion. Season with salt and lemon juice. Mayo can be made with an immersion blender or food processor, but this is more fun!

My "work-wife" invited me to her building for turkey/friendsgiving. She doesn't cook.

I'm bringing an emergency cookie in my jacket. . .

Offer to bring "something".

Something in the form of turkey, potatoes and stuffing!

Ask her what time "is dinner". Text her earlier in the day to ask her if she needs anything, now that the turkey is in the oven!

I have seen this movie before. When the "chef" opens the oven door every 10 minutes to check if the turkey is done, this would be cause for concern.

She had help. The turkey was mostly done except right next to the bone. Her husband cooked a second one and sent it along too.

I got roped into slicing, no cutting board, and in the aluminum pan full of juice. I look down and there is a puddle on my brand new shoes. So I got a towel and rubbed in real good on that shoe, then dipped the towel in some more and rubbed the other shoe to match. I should be set if it happens to rain this week!
