I'm tentatively a week 15 (April 7-11) build for US spec touring that is fully loaded, and individual paint.

If start of production for MY26 is 3/2025, I was curious if my touring would end up being a MY26 instead of MY25.

I called BMW genius as well as my CA to ask, and neither were quite sure.

Did anyone watch Joe Achilles video today? He ordered a touring and his CA hinted that there was a parts shortage for something on the G90/G99. Not sure when Joe recorded the video vs when he posted it.

Sorry, not sure on the Tourings MY26. Sedan has been announced as March

It wouldn't be a shocker on the wagon..demand is high and they don't make a ton of base touring.

I would take the delay

Do you agree with his take on the tires?

I was told by my dealer that the Michelin Sport need to warm up to perform. Living in Belgium, he advised again Michelin Sport for a daily driver...

Any summer tire needs heat to perform, however some tires can heat up and perform better and maintain performance. While others once the temp of the tire heats up, they overheat and lose grip.

The moral of the story is...

If your summer tires are too cold, they get hard and lose grip. If hot, it loses grip, so ideally, you want optimum tire temps. Some brands have a better "range" of tolerance and ability.

If it's colder out than 8 Celsius, run an all-season or winter. Once it gets below that your going to have to put heat into summer tires before you start "chasing" apexes. Never mind if the ground is frozen, damp, or covered in snow.

I would get the Michelins then a secondary set for cold weather.

I did get a second set for the winter.

I currently have PZero on my 540xi for the summer. The dealer led me to believe the Michelin would require a lot more heat to perform than the PZero....

Heard back from my dealer yesterday and he said they have no information about delays on my G99 build (which includes CCBs)

The standard tires included in the base price are Hankook.
if you take the "Sport tires" option for 1.2K, you get the MICHELIN PILOT SPORT S5.

Review here

Stateside you just get a tire lottery..

I personally would go with the PS5 OEM star even for the 1200, it's still cheaper than buying a set yourself. If your doing the swap from summer to winter or summer to all season it's moot as unless your driving a ton of miles, these tires in a rotation will last a while.

Buy the best tire that meet your needs. If your never going to drive the car on the limits take the lessor tire.

Thank you but i have zero interest in black...all my cars are white...if it was a fully optioned white car i'd consider.

It looks like I'll be pushed to 2026 as well, still sitting in QC since early-NOV. My SA has escalated to GM > BMWNA and can't get any updates. Genius can only tell me it's "likely waiting on a part." It's insane there's no way for them to connect with Germany or the factory to get ground truth.

Factory won't give any information on anything. They know, but will not share anymore. First started during COVID

Any update on your end as far as delays for the touring? Seems we’re hearing both that there are delays and aren’t delays.

Just got this back from my SA, I can imagine these P1 holds are backing up the queue.

Latest info from our National office :

These cars are stuck in Germany for quality check. These quality check effects all cars coming from Dingolfing plant specifically built in Oct/Nov. AG is already working on these vehicles and they will be released as soon as the check is completed over the next several weeks. As you can imagine, it is a large list.

There is nothing we can do to further speed up the checks, P1’s are already top priority so no need to add them to the priority list

Not sure about the timeline since we have an M5 on the ground with a production date of 11/15.

I cannot see production dates of other dealers, but there are about 67 M5 Sedans in status 155 (Quality Check) of 123 priority 1 currently for the US market. And no idea how long any have been there since that info is not visible to anyone but the selling dealer.
