Thats a fair take.

Is the middle seat usable or forces the sitter to straddle the middle console tunnel?

As a sum of its parts, the porsche is better vehicle, but you can't get enough said vehicle with m5 money.

At this point Porsche is starting to price their cars out of the market that they compete in. I get its a better overall car in most metrics compared to any M car but not where it's worth nearly twice the price in some cases. They are beautiful cars but when they start commanding 250-300K for a 911 that's not a RS they are out of their minds. They are sports cars, not supercars imo.

Even this initial offering of the M5 appears to be a superior vehicle -- especially if you can get full leather in 2026.

As successful as Porsche is as a company, they have a serious value issue when it comes to the prices of their cars.

The M5 and X5 would be better served if BMW would give one more extra Comfort setting on the adjustable suspension. That would really make the cars perfect.

By the way I had an f90 M5 competition and currently have a 2025 x5m competition so I have some experience with M cars.

When was Porsche cheaper than the BMW. If you ask yourself perhaps you have the answer without having to explain anything here. Granted the price difference has increased a lot.
