I will be updating my work emergency travel computer on Sunday, in preparation for our road trip down south next weekend. It hasn't had updates run on it in over a year now, because COVID has limited our travels.....

Right now I am sitting in Atlanta with a flat on an Enterprise rental car that the company provided for a business trip. No key for the locking lugnut anywhere in the car. Waiting for them to send a tow truck so I can get an exchange. Only had 3.5 hours left to get home.

I'm fuming at this, and on the e92. I would have lost it. Depending on what repair is required make sure they match the paint properly. I've seen some terrible work trying to paint match that alpine white.

It took every ounce of effort to not loose my sh*t at the guy. Was livid.
He didn't look as he was backing up... sigh.

Will keep that in mind, thank you.

This is of course less than 1000km from getting it polished/ceramic.

So finally home. It took over 4 freaking hours to get towed to the Atlanta Airport and get a rental exchange (1.5 hours of that was waiting for Enterprise to get their shit together at the airport), and all they had left to exchange it with was a Chevy Spark. It was like driving a tennis shoe. It struggled to go over 80 except down hill. Oh well, wife and I made it home safe.

Similar thing happened to me while at the service shop once. One of the techs backed a customers car into my cars door. I was inside paying at the counter and never saw it happen. The tech did not report it either. Another customer who saw it did. Dealer paid for repainting 1/2 the car and the tech was fired.

The Midlands, along I-77 between Columbia and Charlotte. Depressed area, with an easy hour's drive to either city for entertainment if the mood strikes. I am not a beach person, and have no desire for being anywhere near the coast or low country in my old age.....

My uncle's turning 80 this weekend, headed down to Palos Verdes on Sunday.

My oldest moved out officially yesterday. I pulled all the nails, patched all the holes, and did a few other repairs of the walls last night. If the color is close when I get home tonight, I'll be repainting the room before my niece moves in.

Sorry, there is no more room at the inn!

Good guy customer reporting that. Tech deserved it, should've known better.

My stepdad was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC. Not too far from there.

I wouldn't say I love the beach but I do love Kiawah Island.

I'll be flying back to South Carolina on Friday evening, to pick up the Mighty Dodge at the airport, spending Saturday at our new lot trying to figure out where the driveway, house, and septic field will be placed, and then driving home at a leisurely pace on Sunday/Monday to wrap up the 3-day holiday weekend.....

Do you really want to drive that far on a holiday weekend?

My youngest turns nine on Saturday. I've got someone coming to do the "yard cards". Have you seen this?

I had to fly home from the closing yesterday evening, for a work obligation today that I couldn't skip. Given the running $12/day parking meter at the airport down there and my need to take care of a few other post-closing property matters in person, I don't have a choice but to fly back and drive the Mighty Dodge home on the holiday weekend. We'll be taking I-81, which I've never seen have holiday weekend traffic issues.....
