If you look at bmwblogs video where they explain the boost mode she sounds like she’s describing they are using the electric motor to load up the turbos to generate boost so it’s there immediately instead of the taking time to spool up after you floor it.
Just speculating now. Would be pointless if all it’s doing is putting everthing in the most aggressive setting because I could do that with the M1 /M2 buttons. Alan

Pretty sure it works the same way as it does in my wifes 24 740i.
Boost mode will set a coundown for 10 seconds and will deliver all the power from the engine and hybrid system. It works well even with the smaller hybrid system. It also feels like it takes much harder off ( without launch control) then my G80 m3 xdrive. |
