Smooth, EV like acceleration is probably the last reason anyone should get one of these. At the end of the day, it has a hybrid system to appease EU regulations. The V8 sound from it is pretty tame too. It does represent good value at this point tho. bmw tests these cars for hundreds of thousands of miles. do you think some doofus has any credibility to say that the stock brakes are so bad to the point of being dangerous? LMAO

That wasn’t what I said at all, and made a point to specify exactly that. My point was the first delivery owner said he felt the weight when driving, and it didn’t inspire confidence in him. That probably says more about him, but that aside, he’s also coming from an F90 CS.

he's full of crap most likely. because it's a hybrid and has regenerative braking bmw may have changed the amount of force needed on the pedal to start braking. my bmws and porsches never required more than a light touch but my mclaren needs way way more braking force

Exactly, who knows what mode he was even in, and the settings he was using. The only point was he felt the weight, but that’s obviously subjective.

I know at least some Porsche EVs let u turn off the regen braking, and I don’t remember if the G90 lets you do that?

As someone who will probably option the CCB, there's no way the standard brakes are not up to the task of all but sustained aggressive/track driving

The M3/M4 is for children. Where I live you only see 17 year old high school kids driving them. My brother got his first M3 at age 17. That was the car I learned how to drive manual on.

This version of the BMW M5 is just the first draft. We'll see what they really have up their sleeves when the Competition and CS versions come out.

Same thing happened with the F90.

I ordered CCB’s as well and would probably agree. For a single stop braking performance, steels will perform nearly identical to CCB’s. The CCB’s would have a tiny bit of an advantage since they are 10 or 20mm bigger, not probably not noticeably.

Where CCB’s perform better is with repeated braking they won’t fade like steel brakes. But at those temps you can start wearing CCB’s fast! Most people with GT3’s who track their cars will swap the CCB’s for steels, unless you have an unlimited budget.

If you’re looking for a daily driver that you can take to the track on the weekends, I feel like this isn’t the car for you.

CCB are worth it just for no brake dust. I have them on my R8, and I never need to clean the wheels. You can run your finger over the wheels with a white cotton glove and not even stain it.

Why did they just not call this a M sport? Like the M550?

M cars are supposed to be track cars. M Sport are only straight line cars.

I can't imagine a 5,300 pound vehicle on a road course.
