I'm objectively leaving the lease comparison out as it isn't a fair one. |

Jag F Type R, a few 458s, at least one Huracan, a bunch of F80s, and one F90. They’re v grabby, and a bit touchy, and are fine, but again, not sure why i would intentionally spec them unless i wanted the look, which i do admittedly dig. I’m happy admiring them on other folks cars tho lol. My M cars are pure workhorses and have had more dents, scrapes, pits, and rock chips than most people here could even stomach. Having shiny CCBs would honestly look out of place! Sidenote, reminds me of the time my shop (AutoCouture) reached out to sell me a set of FI-Rs for my first F90, my absolute favorite wheels, and i had to tell him the story of how my 3yo at the time found a rock in the park we were at and used it to scratch a 3 inch gash in my front quarter panel to show me how sharp the rock was. I just had to laugh and told him they would absolutely be wasted on me lol.

My point was really towards the development of this new G9x platform, and how weight has become a real issue to contend with. A few real life reviews have mentioned the weight being an impediment to driving and enjoying the car, which is where the “you should get CCBs to fix that!” discussion comes up, and it’s always just painful to read…

They are a must beyond the obvious. In fact, if you are the slightest bit OCD, every ///M should be ordered with CCB. Beyond the brake dust, the flash rust from any moisture that sits on the rotors creates a pumpkin colored rim 2 blocks later. Lol Sure you can use hydes or Bilt Hamber, but that only covers the front of the rotor. After 3 ///M, I finally learned my lesson. 😀 Dalher is a pricey option over other piggys. Those gains might cut .1 off a 60mph / 100kph run and maybe .2 in the 1/4 run. Don't get me wrong, I would add one but it would be nice if it was 120hp gain. When the Comp comes out, the factor tune Will cute those gains down by half. I wonder if a transmission flash or remap would help any of the piggybacks.. Cheers! |

1. They look badass 2. lower unsprung mass, although the boat anchor stock cast wheels are holding that back so gotta swap them for the forged m-perf ones or aftermarket. |

The elimination of brake dust is worth it IMO. They also look great and you never have to deal with rust of any sort.
I’m sure they perform better and weigh less, but like many have mentioned, the actual performance advantages are probably not relevant in most cases. I prefer the CCBs for the ease of cleaning and look, but it is an expensive box to check. At the end of the day, CCBs or steel, you’ll love the car. I do agree with a few members who mentioned the increase in confidence from CCBs, while this may be more placebo than reality, it is a real feeling. |
