Nah!

Don't fret if you have a 335i (lease.) Put it on the block at one of the lease sites and you'll get rid of it quick. My lease will be up right about release date for the I35i. Me wants!

That's why I NEVER go more than 24 months. Proceed this bonzo and you have a great car with plenty of money for another vehicle for other needs.

What a wife buster! "But dear, we can have a sports car AND a family car!" Supposed to be around $28k for the 135i. Love life! She'll finally get on her knees for something useful other than to see if you've tracked mud into the house.

Dude you should write comedy dam,n you had me busting up for real:rocks:

Yeah, M1 with a V8. I'd hit that, even if the car does look a little like a 3-series midget.

No M1. M1 was a BMW supercar, and they're not going to change that perception for a 1 series.

Seems to me like BMW is making a poor-man's M with the X35 series...

Seems to me BMW just scored a major hit......, now all the rest will be playing catch up and when they get their 1 series fighter to market BMW will be already working on the next one....it's called strategic planning gents, something the big 3 should consider.

Re-Post; 3 Three Reasons

1. Size
2. Marketing
3. Future 3 and 5 Series Owners

If one really needs any sort of utility, even if you have a family of only 3, this car isn't going to cut it, you'll have to bump to a 3. So it's not an option for many.

Second, BMW has quite obviously gone to the War Room and decided to capitalize on their 335i and upcoming M3 and gut-shoot the competition. They want as much distance to the incessant Japanese that constantly get compared to them in the magazines, and they want to slit the throat of Audi and Mercedes new offerings.

People are going to get in their little Chevy Aeros on a balmy Saturday morning and head to Honda to get their dream car, a V6 Accord or decked out Civic Si. They are definitely going to see the billboard and hear the radio ads of this insane 1 Series that has ALL MAINTENCE paid, is a real To-God BMW, and smokes the doors off most cars $30k-$50k higher.... Jee Martha... lets get us a BMW for LESS of a payment than one the Honda salesman quoted us.

The Jap dealers have notoriously had shitty lease rates because they are arrogant. They sell every car they make, so why dole them out? BMW is a lease dream, and always has been. The payment on my 335i is the same as a high-end Accord. Where is any thinking involved?

Third, BMW has pulled out all stops and declared a self imposed Armageddon on all competitors. You see, in a few years these 1 Series owners, totally impressed ahppy and orgasmic, will soon be plunking down cash on a 3 or 5 Series. Same as the Harley Sportster is nothing but a marketing ploy to generate future Fat Boy owners.

Genius. MacArthur would be proud.

"Time to pimp der BeemerShnitzen yo' " Who wants a C Class or an Accord when you can have this little terror? Wait to Hartge and Dinan starts marketing their terrors, you値l really see 1 Series sales jump. They値l be sold out the first year anyway.

I wonder if the the quote 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds is for the auto or the 6MT. I guess it's MT cus that's what they usually post. The stated time is .1 second quicker than the 335i. Based on that the 135's 0-60 street time migh just hit 4.6 seconds (since it's lighter it will pick up speed faster).

Bottom line: THIS IS GONNA BE ONE SWEET ASS CAR!!!
Those 300 ponies should catapult the 135i from 0 to 62 mph in 5.3 seconds, according to BMW, but we expect the fastest 1er to be much quicker, owing in part to BMW痴 famously conservative estimates and the fact that we rang up a 0-to-60 time of 4.9 seconds for a 335i coupe. The lighter 135i should be able to at least match that figure, and we値l go ahead and venture an estimate in the high fives or better for the 128i while we池e at it. (A 328i sedan we recently tested for a comparo clocked 6.1 seconds to 60.)..." -Erik Johnson Car and Driver....

no way in hell a 135 is starting at 28k. I bet the 128 starts there.

The 3er isn't really an entry-level car anymore...even before the 1er was officially released. A 335vert with options price @ $55-60k. My cheap 325xi with options was $38k and thats from doing ED. BMW realize this so they put the 1er to the USA lineup as the new entry-level bimmer.

I'm ready to do ED on the 135i in 2009
