Anyone know if the bottom end is beefier on this version?

Do you mean as compared to the S63 in the old M5 or as compared to the S68 in other BMW’s?

I haven’t seen anything about a different rotating assembly or this being an S68Tu so to speak, so I think they are all the same.

Also, "to be fair" the S8 is not my car it's my Dog's car.

I'm just the chauffeur.

When my F90 lease was expiring, the M8 was on my list.

But I just couldn't do it. It looked too much like a Mustang.

And the R8 was way cooler.

I’d disagree for the main fact that in NYC alone, we have far too many S58s and B58s getting totaled out because of how the kids love to swim through traffic over here.

The kids where you live sound tame, the G8x drivers over here can attest to the higher insurance rates as a result of the higher than normal occurrences of crashes with these vehicles.

The children cars you mention just require a downpipe and tune for them to play with.

While we have quite a lot of exciting developments to share in the coming weeks and months, our first weekend with the car mostly involved the terrible task of adding a few miles in anticipation for what should be the world's first independent dyno of the new G90 M5. As with a lot of our previous dyno adventures, we were back with our friends at Performance Eurowerks to see just how underrated the G90 M5 comes from BMW. After our experience with our G09 XM, we were eager to see what the G90's hybrid system had in store.

We're not ones to drag out a teaser, so let's dive right into the results! (Video Below)

Our Best Runs Pre Break-in - Dynojet 424:
IND G90 M5: 696.13hp at 5230rpm // 729.59tq at 2420rpm

For Comparison:
IND G09 XM: 614.84hp at 6500rpm // 569.14tq at 2380rpm

Assuming approximately 15% drivetrain loss from the xDrive system, that put's our G90 M5 at an insane 820hp and 859lb-ft of torque. Even if you're convinced that the xDrive system has reached a level of efficiency where it's only losing 10% through the drivetrain, the difference compared to the claimed 727hp and roughly 737lb-ft of torque from BMW is stark.

Unlike when we dyno tested our XM which was not fully charged, we were sure to have the G90's battery topped off prior to the trip to PE. Compared to our standard edition XM's dyno test last year and BMW's claimed numbers, it's clear the G90's output is much more inline with S68 Hybrid setup in BMW's XM Label (Red) which BMW quoted at 748hp / 1000Nm. Regardless of the comparison, and to no one's surprise, the G90 M5 follows BMW's recent tradition of almost criminally underrating its power outputs.

Very Impressive.
Where are all the G90 Haters? Guess they are finding reasons to hate. lol

M cars are supposed to be track cars. M Sport are only straight line cars.

I can't imagine a 5,300 pound vehicle on a road course.

The M5 was never introduced as a track car I'm not sure what you're talking about. It was always about being a luxury limousine that was made to go fast on the autobahn while still being very comfortable and stable. This M5 does exactly that and better than the previous generations, and I have no doubt it can hold its own around the track despite the weight. After all, its still an M car.

Correct. That’s interesting I would imagine the bottom end being a bit more beefy on this new gen. Everyone talks about the S63 bending rods and putting a hole on the side of the block with an X amount of power and torque.

Sorry to break but there isn’t a comp coming out.

Evolve dyno'd the F90 non Comp at 631 Bhp stock. Some one can screenshot the graph and post here.

Edit stage 2 vs stock graph.
Edit 2. WHP to BHP - please dont kill my children for the mistake!

That says flywheel horsepower, which is crank horsepower. Wheel horsepower means something different.
