So full leather no longer covers the bottom and top of the dash? I was really hoping the interior would be much improved over the i5.

Scenes when this new M5 ends up besting the previous F90 gen in most tests from 0-60 to track handling and so on. Do you guys really think they'd make this slower than an M3/M4?

How about we wait and see actual proper reviews before jumping to conclusions? I for one think this car, as heavy as it is will outperform the prev. generation overall.

Not one redeeming quality about this aside from the nice colors and combinations. Massive downgrade from the F90 in every metric

Is anyone else pissed that it’s slower? I realize it’s fast enough, but I can’t think of any car where the newest generation was slower than its predecessor.

I am #1 on the waitlist at my dealership and I am having second thoughts. I realize it’s still quick as hell and it has other stuff like pure ev mode, better mileage, etc…but I don’t care about that stuff.

I don’t even car that it’s 1000lbs heavier as I have another car to drive if I am looking for speed and handling….but I am sort of in shock that someone could by a 2018 model and for 50k and beat the 727hp 2025 model…

Heck, I don’t even care if it had the same acceleration as the previous model, but why are they going backwards?!?

Sedan version of XM, Over engineered, needlessly complex, would be a nightmare to maintain after warranty expires.

Sometimes less is more, things should become simpler as they evolve.

Go back to basics BMW!

Can anyone answer:

What's the performance when the battery is drained? Probably like an X5 M60 if I were to guess.

How quickly does the battery drain? I know the EV range is about 40 miles, but does the car resupply the battery while driving? If so, what are those details?

I'm not interested in a car that has significantly degraded performance after 40-50 miles.

They should have made it either all electric or hybrid like the new Porsche 911 to meet emissions. This is horrible

I’m so happy I bought out my F90. This is very disappointing. Terrible front grill, terrible front camera, hideous rear end, and slower. WTAF

If they can keep the 6 series ICE-only, the elite M-series will live in the new M6.

Who is the target audience for this car? I’m squinting, trying to find it desirable. But I can’t. Not the looks, not the interior, not the perf.

The G8X suddenly seems like the pinnacle of what a current gen performance BMW is.

This seems like what should have been an M550e badged as an M5. At least they are too embarrassed to bless it with a Competition badge.maybe the LCI will be a ‘Competition’.

Dude, you are getting smaller trunk then m3, but at least 50k$ more expensive and worse to drive.

Just grab M3 LCI, dead serious.
Its WAY cheaper (not to mention repairs if hybrid brakes down after 2 years), faster, drives better, 600kg lighter, same space inside (cuz of hybrid taking up so much), has BIGGER trunk space, and you got the LCI interior refresh from just 3 weeks ago on M3 LCI.
Also, carbon diffuser, carbon paddle shifters, full carbon steering wheel - none of this m5 has. The only thing you are missing is literally illuminated grill. M3 will be way easier to sell as well, ton of mods and we already know engine is fool proof. For 20% price difference between M3 and M5 you can literally change complete exterior to carbon, including grill, M performance parts and stuff.

I see zero reasons to buy this over m3 lci.

I drive m3 pre-lci (with big screen though), was waiting for m5 to replace it the moment it came out, absolutetly not doing it.

Let's be honest for 5 minutes as a bmw enthusiast for years it has nothing of a BMW... no angel eyes, more than 2 tons, the shapes have nothing of an M... I hope that the disappointment of the community will be felt on the sales the designer and the current team are ruining the brand... just look at the horrible 1-series, which will no doubt be no match for the Golf R and the Audi S3, or the X3, which looks like a mini XM, and I can't wait to see what other models they're going to ruin...

These initial press drives with the camo car rarely tell us anything.

Love how everyone is quick to jump to conclusions without any real review but read off a spec sheet and pretend like they know how the car feels to drive. Not sure how everyone is suddenly into HP and torque but personally, if BMW nailed the chassis tuning, I would take that instead of this never ending increase of HP between generations.
Nice cope but the AMG GT E sucks to drive, and so does the Panny hybrid.. and the cayenne hybrid.. And the XM...

You are pretending that the weight can be "hidden". This thing weighs as much as my X5MC and I feel every bit of weight when I huck it around. It is no replacement for my former F90CS.

What a tremendous mistake I made selling it.

The same goes for me! Except for the G80/82 and G87, which are still nuggets for me, but the F chassis are incredible.
