Consumer Reports recently rated BMW #1 among auto manufacturers and MB near dead last. No tested MB model was recommended. MB has fallen far from what it once was.

Not comparable at all.

The new S63 is VERY impressive - I saw one at my local dealership- but it is also NO WHERE NEAR comparable in price point - aside from the dealer mark up ($50K) it was 230K

Not trying to ruffle feathers, but those with discerning taste that can mentally step away from owners bias and nostalgia will always find the Porsche product to be superior.

That’s why Porshe owners are dickheads! They know they are behind the wheel of the finest cars on the road.

Agree with your assessment except a competition implies a relatively close contest.

I write this as a longtime BMW owner & fanatic.

Other than a 911 or 718 I wouldn’t bother with a Porsche product. Not worth the premium. I’ve owned or driven their other models too.

The 911 of course is a masterpiece.

I know but soft close doors are so well done by BMW. I think it’s a mistake regardless of inflation.

They are “all in” for the stop start though. Plenty of budget for that standard option.

I owned a 992 Turbo S. And although a true masterpiece of a car, it was so "boring" when not driving quickly, I shifted to other cars.

I really like the brand and direction Porsche is heading, but I don't think its on a whole other level to BMW M, AMG or RS.

I’ve driven the ‘24 Macan S and own 2 X3 30i’s and a G30 540i. The Macan definitely drives better than the X3, the materials are somewhat better until you compare to the X3M. I wanted to really like the Macan but at $90k decently equipped, it’s a 5-10% better driving vehicle at a 20% premium. Most Porsche’s are like that. Not arguing they are better driving dynamics, but the premium to get that isn’t worth it for many.

Not “on the road” per se.

Porsche owners are mostly sitting in the car inside of their climate controlled, dust free garages making vroom vroom sounds so as not to put any miles on it and diminish the precious’s value.

Why argue with strangers about what they like and don’t like? I really don’t get it.

I wonder if the lack of a full leather option during the first few months of production will impact orders. Seems slightly odd to delay a popular feature IMO.

You don’t have to be Nostradamus to predict we’re going to see M5 Touring vs Panamera Turismo comparisons when the M5T is launched.

Except the turismo panamera won’t be made in the latest generation Panamera and the Panamera with the hybrid and active suspension is going to smoke the M5 in ever possible metric…
