Saw an i5M60 today. It looked awesome in the color black….i am liking G90 M5. Just wish they would unleash all the horses as we know it is detuned….

The G90 is not a bad looking car, but the LCI F90 looks so much more sleek and elegant from every angle.

I had the same initial reaction to the G82 M4, I have a 2020 M4 and at first look hated the G82, but after a few years it does make my F82 look a little bland. I have come to like both and believe in time, both will be considered classic BMW design.
This is a great discussion as it’s all subjective. What isn’t subjective is the new m5 weighs more than a Chevy Tahoe 🤪 |

I always enjoy BMW design threads (not as much as an oil thread, but close). Owning numerous BMWs since 1999, I have come to the following conclusions about opinions regarding the styling of the next generation of the car that you currently own or are interested in:
1. The "pinnacle" of BMW styling often occurs when you first get into the brand or acquire your dream BMW. For me this is the E39. My manual 1999 E39 528 was the first nice car I ordered to spec, and that is quite a memory. I couldn't quite swing an M5 when it came out it 2000, but was able to in 2004, cementing my love for the E39's style forever. All M5 styling (and everything else: size, weight, lack of manual transmission option) is "downhill." And yet I understand that the car must evolve to suite the current market, and I am glad that it continues. 2. The current owners of the previous generation of the same car who do not plan to "upgrade" to the more current version are generally dissatisfied with with the design changes. This is certainly the case for me regarding my F87 M2C vs. the 2023+ G87 M2. That said, I am so glad that owners of the G87 enjoy it and BMW still produced it (with at MT as well!!). TL;DR: Opinions BMW styling fall on somewhat predictable lines. I know the owners of the G90 will love their cars.

My F90 is the 2nd best looking car I have had, after my M8 GC.
It is about to get relegated to 3rd place. I really like the G90 looks. Not a single aspect I dislike other than, maybe, the rectangular sensor plate on the grill. Can’t wait to drive it to see how it handles, AS A COMMON-MAN-DAILY-DRIVER!

Strictly speaking of the interior, it's obvious that the F90 design language is essentially identical to the F30, which was introduced in 2011(!) so to me it looks very dated.

Why don’t we stop being lemmings? Let’s view things objectively.
Based on initial reviews, the F90’s design was loved. The G90 was not. Conclusion? The F90 is objectively better looking, on the basis of positive reviews per capita. The F90 was faster. The G90 is slower. The F90 was lighter, the G90 is heavier. The F90 is louder. The G90 will, by all accounts, sound like a neutered vacuum. I refuse to believe that beyond group think most of you actually believe the G90 is superior. If the roles were reversed and the F90 was the successor, everyone would come out saying this is the best car that BMW had ever made. Why? Because that’s was the precise sentiment about the F90. We wonder why cars keep getting worse year over year? It’s simple. The over cooked spaghetti noodle that is your moral convictions give implicit permission for BMW to shove this down our throat. “Oh I’ll get used to it.” Clown show. |

these are sometimes emotional purchases but you put the i5 and the m5 in the side profile you can't tell the difference and that's not even considering the interior. |

No, the F90 is not better looking. It's just a matter of opinion. G90 is slower in 0-100. And yes, it's heavier than X5. And it sounds similar to XM. And the roles wouldn't be reversed, the F90 now is just outdated. No matter how good the car in general is performance or design-wise. I like the G90 design take, but the realization is just bad. Downgrande in almost all aspects from materials, options, and performance. Some people won't like the G90 as some didn't F90 or older generations as E60 (which was accepted similar to this one), and some would like even more and be new customers for the M5. |

“bmw doesn't make a car for enthusiasts anymore. its a brand mostly for posers and 400 credit score buy here pay here people. the M2 is sadly the last real M car worth a damn. “
You’re entirely correct in my mind. This is the definitive reason why I am really looking forward to moving out of my current F90 into a Porsche or an Aston. Brands who’s consumers seem to be enthusiasts in the true automotive sense, and not those peacocking for the newest latest greatest. |

F90 best car they have ever made... Yeah I am not going into this but to each their own 😂😂😂😂😂 As for the group think, I am with you 💯, if you buy something hoping to like it in the future, you are playing with your money and are the reason I said in an earlier post that sales does not equal liking/accepting the design. One can use their money as they see fit, but if those who buy hoping to like it in the end and don't must know they are the reason the next one will look the same, as the wallets have spoken 😂😂😂😂 |

I happen to think they are both gorgeous. Take your pick. Time less and classy design at bmw best imo. Most people agree. See thing is when a design is right is just right. Like a piece of art. You just know. And this applies to most beautiful things in this world. You don’t need to have it grow on you. Or aquire the taste for it. When you see something stunning that grabs you and moves you you don’t need any coaxing to get to like it. Generally speaking I find this to be true with cars and everything else as well. That doesn’t mean I don’t have thins grow on me in time but it does mean I will never feel the same about that thing vs the thing that grabbed my attention from the jump. Makes sense?

Can’t wait to see it in Bay Area and LA. But if we both make turn in double turn lanes I’ll make sure to leave extra space if I’m on ouside 🤣
