Exactly.

And manufacturers who were once miles and miles behind in the driving departament, now are on par. We never thought the Koreans could make such exciting driving machines, yet here they are.

the real irony? the german luxury brands already make a ton of of fwd car lol... all the lower series are exactly that... that was roughly when premium stopped being premium... either way, the german auto industry is arguably in the worst shape its even been... vw is about to layoff thousands and have a plant closure

On the plus side, it won't understeer like your Audi.

I want to hate the M5 given the weight, electrification, etc., but TBH, it seems BMW did the best they could with what they have to work with.

I believe the transition to EVs will be stopped, but it is difficult to say what the future of motoring is going to look like for anyone with petrol in their veins.

The fact that BMW didn't follow woke companies like VW and Merc is to be applauded. The M5 still has a proper engine, and BMW didn't bet the farm on silly tech. that is now driving VW Group into closing down multiple plants.

Benz is a total disaster for what they did w the new line and key to point out that BMWs largest factory is in the USA lol...

M3/M4 are not status cars, though. Those are kids cars. Only high school kids drive them where I live. My brother got his first M3 at 17 years old, an E36 manual. I learned to drive stick on that car.

Many Americans live in debt, paycheck to paycheck.

The idea that an M3 or 4 is not a status car is ridiculous.

Where I live, they are kids cars. Teenagers drive them, not adults.

Where I live if I see someone in an M3 or M4 I immediately assume they are poor and less fortunate than me.

the m3 and m4 are currently the it machines for flexing on IG... and w them costing up to $110k now, it would be crazy to think otherwise...

2 things have happened since the last gen-

1) people are far more to get into debt (no matter how much) than ever to flex and show off these cars on social media... far too easy availability of credit

and

2) it is now an awd car that has been opened to many more markets making it a bit more in demand as the audi and benz counterparts suck... that just makes it better for instagram launch videos lol

there was a time when the m3 and m4 were niche rwd enthusiast cars... they are no longer that... but rather status symbols to many

I hear the same thing over here uttered in Chorweiler (a ghetto in Cologne, Germany).

"Bruder, was für eine Kinderkarre!"
