Went to The Ridge M Car Days yesterday. It was a great experience. I was plesently surprised the the follow the leader laps were at full track speeds with only 3 Ms behind the leader. We switch places every lap with the M behind the leader dropping back behind the other two followers. Even with several track events under my belt, I was pressed to keep up to the leader. All in all, great fun. Also it was my first time at “The Ridge” and I must say it is a wonderful track. I am glad I went.

It was definitely a better event then most on here said it would be. We did a TON of driving at Monticello and speeds we reached met/exceeded local HPDE events, so it was definitely not a tame driving experience. All the events were fun and an adrenaline rush, will definitely attend next year.

Oh yeah, most of us on here just started receiving our M Track Days pins this past week.

I posted in the local sub-forum as well, but I am unable to attend the half-day M Track Days event in Thermal, CA next week, Oct 31st from 8A-1P. Selling for $255 FIRM if anyone is interested and missed registration.

Did the half day Sunday morning at Thermal. First timer, had a blast. Great lunch too. I don't think I embarrassed myself too much as I ended up right the middle of the pack in the autocross timed session. For the lead/follow, had issues following the leader in an M3 (vs. M4 earlier) but later figured out I had the throttle response on comfort which killed my closing speed on the back straight and coming out of some corners. Overshot on the drag race a couple times but finally dialed it in in the M5. Got a BMW water bottle as a parting gift at lunch. Great bargain at $250 for the half day and not thrashing your own car.

I didn't get a pin. Oh well, I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway.
