just wait until march, the full leather/individual leather stuff should be available around then, that's what I'm gunna do...or try to at least, patience is not my strong suit. The wait on my G87 was torturous.

No that shouldn’t be a concern, g80 full leather is on par with this extended leather g90 imo; not to mention the new interior design language of 5 and 7 series will feel light years ahead. But don’t go sit in an i5 m60i though, that one is better than m5 imo because they didn’t have to save weight

I just picked my G90 up this week and agree with pretty much everything OP had to say about it. Interior/leather is sub par but everything else exceeds my previous F90 Comp. Not having soft close doors blows, but my biggest gripe is not having the upper seat back adjustment

I am also 2 weeks into my G90. MBB
I had a MBB 2021 LCI F90 I loved the F90 . I agree the f90 had extended leather on doors, dash and great stitching that made it feel more premium. The soft close doors… ahh. Never thought I would miss those. The B+W systems seem similar to me but I do believe the low volume sounds are better on G90. I don’t find myself cranking it is high as the f90 to get similar sound. I had to crank up f90 system more to get acceptable sound. Finally, The f90 was definitely more nimble in the corners. Now the G90 Acceleration night and day compared to f90. G90 is much better. The EV assisted thrust is life changing fun. I had an LCI F90 and the ride on G90 is just better. It eats up the road bumps and feels more compliant. I can imagine if I had the Michelins it would be even better In person, the G90, to me, has an amazing presence. Bulldog and looks like it means business. I felt the f90 was too much of a sleeper. I know that has been the appeal of the M5 but for me I prefer a little stand out. I smile walking to it everyday and that’s what its all about for me. That connection to something special. G90 has a smaller gas tank so not sure on mileage yet. Trying to determine if its best to be in battery mode in stop and go traffic or hybrid. Stop and go defers more to using batteries and depletes them pretty quickly. Not sure if good mileage is a sure thing with this beast.. especially the way I drive. G90 steel brakes are impressive. I had CCB on f90 and the bite harder and quicker but steels are great. Work really well but back to cleaning wheels again. May have to search for low dust pads in near future G90 seats are just as comfortable as F90 just no massage.. Didn’t really use it but was nice to know it was there. The only thing with g90 seats the upper and side bolster adjustments are in the idrive not the side of the seat like the f90 I know th engine sound is pumped in but the g90 does such an amazing job of keeping me engaged in what the engine is doing. Doesn’t sound like fake engine sounds. The F90 interior out of the box was too isolated but F90 outside sounded better with pops and burbles. I drive a ton and this G90 ride is overall more engaging and exciting car to drive than the f90. That’s my .02 I haven’t had time to take off a tire yet but have to check if my modern spare tire from my f90 will fit the g90. I emailed modernspare and they don’t know yet. If anyone here knows please let me know |

Interesting observation from the OP. After owning my 18 M5 for over the past 6.5 years I am contemplating transitioning from my F90. Took the F90 in for the recall for the coolant tank and test drove G90 M5. First off styling is very subjective and the only BMW that appeals to me is the M8 with a proper dash and not the wide screen PC monitor dash that BMW is now installing on most of their current lineup. Having been a driving instructor for my police department for the past 18 years I enjoy being the chase vehicle in the pursuit driving evaluation for our officer’s. So, I know a little about driving dynamics. Having bought several M cars (E46, E39, F80, and F90) from my dealership, they know me and the driving schools I have attended. With that being said, I was asked to give my feedback on the new G90.
I did some spirited driving and put the G90 through its paces, I was surprised how the G90 hides the weight of the vehicle. The only positive I came away with is the acceleration of the vehicle. I preferred the steering of the F90 over the G90, the G90 felt disconnected but still handled the twisties I was driving but did not instill confidence. It is hard to state but when driving you connect with the vehicle and feel the feedback in the steering and I was missing this in the G90. I will say this I like the design of the F90 over the G90 and I know this, looks of a vehicle are very subjective. While this is a BMW forum but I would like to believe we are all car enthusiasts, please drive the Corvette Eray. OMG, what a power house and a handling delight. My neighbor bought one and he let me drive it and it is high on my list as my next vehicle. If you do not need back seats the Eray is a no brainer for performance. At the end of the day buy the car that appeals to you. |

I tried to convince myself getting a Z06/eRay or maybe waiting for zr1 but i cant get over the look of the car Something about the rear and the tailights looks cheap and especially the black plastic it is like trying to be a ferrari with cheap plastic/material I like the interior and the engine options and the sound but the exterior/rear look is not for me |

Not so much the leather itself, but the lack of leather. Too many plastic panels and switches. Wasn’t enough to dissuade my purchase but just an observation. My X5M and X7 interiors have a more premium feel to them with the leather panels and other materials, but they do have the full leather option. My former 2015 M6 GC was the best in that regard. Had leather on over 90% of the interior. I miss that one.

Amazing ride, and you can’t compare to f90 at all. The difference between g90 and f90 like comparing older tech shoes vs new. Both mean business and geared for performance but the newer is better.
